India today and Tomarrow

Neither was an army ever sent outside the country by the Indians nor did any outside army ever invade their country and master them, except that with Heracles and Dionysus and that in our times with the Macedonians. - Megasthenes in His India the Indian people are said to live very long lives, over one hundred years. Polygamy is a common practice Strabo remarks that their customs are simpler than the Greeks, but they do have a fondness for jewellery. - Strabo's Account of India.

Bold

The Indus civilization one of the earliest civilizations of the world. It’s still unclear when this civilization existed on the earth. Indus citizens (it’s an urban civilization) cultivated cotton, there is irrigation system, well laid roads/lanes with name plates. The Indus script hasn't been deciphered till now. They have standard weights and measures. And Lethal has the world's first dock. These are just a few inventions of a very ancient civilization.

Mother

India was the mother of our race and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages. She was the mother of our philosophy, mother through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics, mother through Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity, mother through village communities of self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all-Will Durant.

Those were the words of Swami Vivekananda; there is not even a pint of exaggeration in that statement. If you say it’s an Indian boosting of his own country, Great American Philosopher Will Durant's statement is quoted here, this tells the greatness of India.

Activity make DIFFERENCE

This, many other nations have taught; but India for thousands of years peacefully existed. Here activity prevailed when even Greece did not exist... Even earlier, when history has no record, and tradition dares not peer into the
Gloom of that intense past, even from until now, ideas after ideas have marched out from her, but every word has been spoken with a blessing behind it and peace before it.

Shadow

"Civilizations have arisen in other parts of the world. In ancient and modern times, wonderful ideas have been carried forward from one race to another...But mark you, my friends; it has been always with the blast of war trumpets and the march of embattled cohorts. Each idea had to be soaked in a deluge of blood..... Each word of power had to be followed by the groans of millions, by the wails of orphans, by the tears of widows.

Indian Subcontinent

One can appreciate the presence of lofty mountains in the north; large rivers such as Ganga, Brahmaputra, Mahanadi, Krishna, Godavari and Kaveri; green forested hills in northeast and south India; and the vast sandy expanse of Marusthali. India is bounded by the Himalayas in the north, Hindukush and Sulaiman ranges in the northwest, Purvachal hills in the north-east and by the large expanse of the Indian Ocean in the south, it forms a great geographic entity known as the Indian subcontinent.

Land of the Hindus

The ancient Greeks referred to the Indians as Indio, the people of the Indus. The Constitution of India and common usage in various Indian languages also recognise Bharat as an official name of equal status. Hindustan, which is the Persian word for “Land of the Hindus” and historically referred to northern India, is also occasionally used as a synonym for all of India.

India is a republic consisting of 28 states and seven union territories with a parliamentary system of democracy. It has the world's twelfth largest economy at market exchange rates and the fourth largest in purchasing power. Economic reforms have transformed it into the second fastest growing large economy. However India also suffers with poverty, malnutrition, the name India is derived from Indus, which is derived from the Old Persian word Hindu, from Sanskrit Sindhu, the historic local appellation for the Indus River.."

Change for better World

As the seventh largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, marked off as it is by mountains and the sea, which give the country a distinct geographical entity. Bounded by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west.

Except for a few mountain passes such as the Khyber, the Bolan, the Shipkila, the Nathula, the Bomdila, etc. it was difficult to cross it. It has contributed towards the evolving of a unique regional identity of the Indian subcontinent.

Rich country we are IN

INDIA a country with with a rich history, a rich civilization which is an amalgam of some of the greatest civilizations and cultures of the world. It always stood as a peace loving country. The Indian Indepence sttrugle and the way it has developed in many fields during the last 59 years of its Independence, is a source of inspiration... for the third world countries and an eye opener for advanced countries . India has become self-sufficient in agricultural production( when in 1970s some eminent international economists warned that India is going towards a dead wall-- thanks to Green Revolution), and is now the tenth industrialised country in the world and the sixth nation to have gone into outer space to conquer nature for the benefit of the people.

piece of FACE

It is the youth and youth alone who can set this world right. No nation can stand without its youth. Never underestimate the capabilities of the youth, thinking that they are inexperienced and young. Only the youth are capable of protecting this world. They are endowed with immense power. If they take a firm resolve, they are capable of achieving anything! When they realize their power, they can emancipate nations. You must face all difficulties with forbearance. Accept all trials and tribulations with love. Accept both pleasure and pain with love. Fill your heart with love and not with the poison of evil qualities. Everything is love. The very word ‘love’ is suffused with sweetness. Treat each other with love, converse with each other with love, lead a life full of love and enjoy bliss.

Baba Ramdev to go ahead with fast from June 4th 2011

"My hunger strike will go ahead. There is no question of calling off the protest plan till my demands are met and till talks reach a satisfactory conclusion,"
This is the third such measure put forward by the government, which on Friday announced a high level panel to tackle generation of black money and on Sunday commissioned a study by top economists to estimate the extent of illegal wealth stashed abroad.
The sense of urgency in framing a political response to corruption was reflected in the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs meeting on Monday evening to take stock amid heightening tensions with the Anna Hazare group, Baba Ramdev's threatened fast and continuing Opposition attacks.
The series of actions also point to the government's uneasiness on black money that has lingered as an issue since the 2009 election with Supreme Court taking an interest and Baba Ramdev jumping into the fray as well.
Sources said the government felt it would be better to adopt a proactive approach to Baba Ramdev rather than lay itself open to an ambush as was the case with the Anna Hazare fast at Jantar Mantar. Ramdev was also briefed by CBDT chairperson Sudhir Chandra about two weeks ago about what the government has done and the hurdles to recovering black money.

BUSINESS

The business has been driven by the rapid evolution in technology: virtualization, cloud computing, standardization of IT infrastructure, and the availability of sophisticated tool sets. It has also been driven by changes in customer demands and a mature offshore supply environment. Industries including telecom and banking, financial services and insurance have become early adopters. "The RIM industry is at a watershed in its development," according to a study by McKinsey that was released in March by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). And as was the case with business process outsourcing (BPO), signs exist that India may be poised to gain a large share of this fast-growing market.

How Technology Managed From India Is Changing the Complexion of Outsourcing.."

Such scenarios are being repeated at several high-tech companies in India that remotely manage IT infrastructure around the world, from computer networks of transportation hubs in Europe, to the world's largest private e-mail service for a global Fortune 100 organization, to ATM networks for Middle East banks, to storage devices for U.S. pharmaceutical companies. Engineers in India are monitoring, upgrading, healing and rebooting systems across the world to ensure that it's business as usual for end users of the IT infrastructure.

CHANGE:

How should Indian companies engaged in the business of offering consumer products and services react? The starting point has to be an acknowledgement of the fact that India is changing and therefore they must change with India.

THE LEADERSHIP OF BUSINESSES

The leadership of all businesses must make a conscious effort to 'think young' and encourage 'young'. The new India offers incredible opportunities, and this itself should be motivation enough for established businesses to change!

HOW INDIA IS CHANGING:

What has changed? If it can be explained by any single phenomenon, it would be the dramatic change in the demographic profile of India. Almost unknown to many of us, India has become the youngest nation in the world in terms of the age of its population.

Who is Anna Hazare?

He once contemplated suicide and even wrote a two-page essay on why he wanted to end his life. Anna Hazare was not driven to such a pass by circumstances. He wanted to live no more because he was frustrated with life and wanted an answer to the purpose of human existence.
Today, Anna Hazare is the face of India's fight against corruption. He has taken that fight to the corridors of power and challenged the government at the highest level. People, the common man and well-known personalities alike, are supporting him in the hundreds swelling to the thousands.
